HF Alpine Slovenia Stages Race

HF Stages Race is a gravel grinding race from Friday 16th to Sunday 18th of May, 2025. Riders will take a three stages in 290 km long, alpine winding route with first-class gravel roads. Designed to be fun and challenging for gravel riders of all levels. In 2025, the race will be held for the fourth time. 

 

Lake Bled and Julian Alps

This little and exceptionally beautiful lake Bled can be found in the Julian Alps, in Northwestern Slovenia. Lake Bled is one of the most surprising and beautiful places on Earth. The Julian Alps and pre-alpine hills are considered as one of the best for alpine gravel biking and multi-days bikepacking. For gravel grinders, this beautiful location offers a variety of riding options in a truly preserved nature, full of surpluses and fascinating places.

We locals rider, passionate fans of gravel riding, bikepacking ... completed three excellent stages with fine gravel roads and amazing views. We have also included an excellent location for socializing, cuisine, and the start and finish of the race – the stunning and modern venue by the Sava River, River Camping Bled. HFG Stage One (01)

The first stage takes a somewhat intricate course through the Upper Gorenjska Valley. The trail winds between two stunning rivers – the Sava Dolinka and the Sava Bohinjka. This stage serves as an introduction, a warm-up, and an exploration of the beautiful gravel roads in the area. Riders will also ride through the historic old town of Radovljica, past Lake Bled, and through numerous charming Gorenjska villages. In short, this is a highly engaging and dynamic stage, filled with exceptional and fast gravel roads, along with a few technical sections that test the cyclists' focus and skill.

• Special: Exceptionally beautiful gravel roads with a few short and fine "technical" sections – the course runs between two rivers: the Sava Bohinjka and the Sava Dolinka.

HFG Stage Two (02)

Stage Two is truly extraordinary, as it takes riders into the heart of the Karavanke mountains. Riders will ascend to stunning alpine pastures beneath Mount Stol, passing mountain huts and alpine farms before reaching the picturesque village of Dovje-Mojstrana. This stage offers cycling through the breathtaking landscapes of Triglav National Park and the beautiful Alpine valleys filled with rivers and lakes.

The final section follows the Radovna Valley, with highlights like Lake Kreda, and crosses Mežaklja before descending past Bled and heading toward the finish line. A magnificent stage set in an absolutely exceptional natural environment

• Date: May 17th, 2025
• Start: 9am
• Length: 92 km
• Positive climbing: +2.230m
• Feed station: One (55km) 
• Gravel roads: 73%
• Max. total time: 8 hours (average speed – 11.5 km/h)

• Special: Karavanke Mountain and Triglav National Park Ride. An exceptional course that connects two mountain ranges and the most beautiful Alpine valleys  - Krma Valley,  Radovna Valley ...

HF Stage Three (03)

HF stage Three runs from Lake Bled to Vintgar gorge and to eastern side of Mežakla plateau. From there riders will descends to the beautiful Radovna valley. Then, the route climb up to Triglav National Park and runs through extraordinary alpine pastures - Uskovnica,  Zajavorniki, ... - and across the amazing Pokljuka plateau in the Triglav Park. From the Pokljuka plateau we descend into the beautifull valley of Bohinj Lake and from there over the Bohinj valley to Jelovica plateau and back to Lake Bled and to the the finish line along the Sava river.

King Staga Only (03)

Gravel is about community, it’s about friendship and our mission is to create an intimate HF gravel experience. Therefore, we offer riders to choose to participate only on the "King stage"on Sunday, May 18th. The result is not taken into account in the HF stages race. It’s a one-day gravel challenege - race and also the rankings are the same.

HF Rivers Race

HF Rivers Race is a true gravel beauty designed for all true lovers of gravel riding. It's for cyclists who aren't seeking significant elevation gain but swear by the most beautiful experiences on exceptional gravel roads. The route starts from the starting area along the Sava River to Radovljica. From there, it continues to Begunje and Žirovnica. Then it descends to the Sava Dolinka River, where it connects further past Lake Bled to the Sava Bohinjka River. From there, amidst the idyllic surroundings of the river, cyclists ride back to the event area.

 

HF Rivers Race:

• Start location: River Camping, Bled 
• Date: Sunday, May 18th, 2025
• Start: 9am
• Length: 52 km
• Positive climbing: +680m
• Feed station: No.
• Gravel roads: 78%
• Max. total time: 5 hours (average speed – 10.4 km/h)
• Special: The route runs through the most beautiful gravel areas around Bled and Radovljica. Enjoyable and smooth cycling along the Sava Dolinka and Sava Bohinjka rivers.

Venue place

The event venue place is beautiful River Camping Bled. It is also the start and finish line of the HF Stages race, "King" Stage and HF River race. River camping Bled is one of the most beautiful corners of the Julian Alps. It lies along the beautiful river Sava in the immediate vicinity of Bled. The camp is easily accessible and offers a wide range of services.
